About this app
A meeting calendar for Matrix. Schedule a meeting in the widget and a NeoDateFix bot creates the meeting room for you: it invites the participants, sets name, topic and power levels, and pins the widgets the meeting needs (whiteboard, polls, notepad, video conference). The room is the meeting, so the conversation, the files and the conference stay together after it ends.
The calendar shows what is coming up as a list, a day, a week or a month. Recurring meetings live in a single room for all their occurrences; breakout sessions split the participants into subrooms (with one message sendable to all of them at once); and a sharing link invites guests who are not in the room. An HTTP API lets a groupware system such as Open-Xchange create meetings from outside Matrix.
NeoDateFix is two halves. The widget displays and edits; every change it
makes travels as a net.nordeck.meetings.* timeline event to a bot (NestJS
- Matrix Bot SDK) that holds the privileges to create and modify rooms, and
the bot acknowledges each command with a reaction. Without that bot running
against your homeserver — and without the widget being told its API URL —
the calendar renders but nothing can be created. The meeting data itself is
ordinary room state (
net.nordeck.meetings.metadata) that any client can read.
In an encrypted room the commands between client and bot are end-to-end encrypted, and the bot can create meeting rooms as encrypted rooms. The bot is a member of every room it manages, so it sees their content.
